Showing references in your resume
As a rule of thumb, we do not recommend including references on your resume. References take up valuable resume space, and will generally not be needed until after the first interview. For these reasons, it is best to keep references separate from your resume and provide them only after you have been asked to by a potential employer.
Your options for references include:
- Do not include a References section
- Use a Text Section to show that you will provide references when asked:
- Use a Text Section to display your references in a simple bulleted list:
